Boston School for the Deaf from southeast
Title
Boston School for the Deaf from southeast
Description
The Boston School for the Deaf was located at 800 North Main St. It moved to the Randolph campus in 1904, 5 years after opening, and closed in 1994 due to declining enrollment. As of 2020, its campus is home to the Boston Higashi School, which educates children with autism. This image shows several of the school's buildings, including its main and original building on the right; the primary building appears to not have been built yet at the time the photo was taken. A caption at the bottom of the image reads "Porter's Pharmacy. Boston School for the Deaf. W. M. Shipman. Greetings from Randolph, Mass." The back of the card is addressed to Miss Mildred A. Fischer of Cambridge, MA.
