Title

"Our Lady's Shrine" at the Boston School for the Deaf

Description

The Boston School for the Deaf was located at 800 North Main St. It moved to the Randolph campus in 1904, 5 years after opening, and closed in 1994 due to declining enrollment. As of 2020, its campus is home to the Boston Higashi School, which educates children with autism. This image shows a small shrine made of rocks and surrounded by bushes with a statue of the Virgin Mary inside. The school was run by the Catholic order of the Sisters of St. Joseph.
