Title

Richards & Brennan shoe factory and storefront

Description

This factory on South Main St., produced shoes for the Richards & Brennan Shoe Company. The company began on Highland Ave., on a site later occupied by Chase and Sons. It then moved to the former G. H. Burt factory on South Main St. The South Main St. site later became the site of the Randolph Manufacturing Co., or Randy, Shoe Factory. As of 2020, it is the site of the Union Square Townhouses and Randolph Square Plaza. The factory takes up the bulk of this photo, but the storefront where some of the goods were sold can be seen on the left side of the image.
