Description

The Turner Free Library building which can be seen in this photo was built in 1874 and burned down in 1962. Next door at 18 North Main St. is the Turner/Beach Estate. Built in the 1850s, the property was occupied by Seth Turner originally but was later occupied by his daughter Alice Turner Beach, who died in 1932, and her husband. It was razed between 1935 and 1939. This postcard was originally sent to Miss Hazle E. Hawkins of Cambridge St. by "Powder-House Friend".
