Title

Old Fire Station No. 2

Description

This fire station was located on North Main St. in North Randolph, likely close to the current North Randolph Fire Station at 952 North Main St. It was built sometime before 1900 and housed the Fire Department's Steamer No. 2. In 1950, the new North Randolph Fire Station was built, leaving the old Station No. 2 vacant. After several years, the building was purchased by George S. Rent, owner of Stewie's Oil Company, and moved down the street to 639 North Main St., next to Stewie's Auto Repair, where it still stands as of 2020. Rent used the building as an apartment and as storage for Stewie's Auto Repair; it's not known what it's currently used for.
