Title

Dory on Great Pond

Description

Great Pond is located on Pond St. It serves as the main reservoir for Braintree, Randolph, and Holbrook. Despite this, the pond was still used for boating and swimming until 1926. This image shows a small dory in the water just beyond the pond's shore, with another small boat slightly farther out. A caption in the upper left corner of the image reads "Great Pond, Randolph, Mass." The image has been colorized, likely through hand-tinting. The back of the card has a message to Mrs. E. W. Bearse of Ouset, MA (possibly Onset Village in Wareham?) from Rosa.
